About Me
Degreed engineer with 29 years experience internationally and domestically involved in the design and supervision of various drilling, completion and work-over operations.
Reviewed well engineering plans and programs to ensure the objectives can be met and that the rig can effectively and safely execute the program and ensure programs comply with HSE Standards (personal and process safety), government and regulatory requirements. Lead and/or participated in incident investigations, resource investigation teams and ensured implementation of resultant actions and incident investigations determined root cause and appropriate actions.
Provide technical specifications for selection of rig, down hole equipment and services. Evaluated tender technical and commercial bids tenders, negotiated contracts and managed third party contractors. Ensure all well plans are technically sound, feasible, and cost effective. Review and propose technically and commercially feasible alternatives. Made certain well equipment proposed for drilling, completing or work-over of planned wells is available, fit for purpose and meet the applicable QA/QC standards. Provide initial well timelines for planning purposes, well specific drilling and completion time curves, and initial cost estimates that accurate and are based on aggressive, realistic job times.
Ensured Challenge sessions, DWOP, pre-spud, NPT and lessons learned meetings are held routinely and that lessons learned are transferred from well to well. Provided daily engineering support and monitored the implementation of drilling and completion programs. Coached, managed and developed staff, including performing annual appraisals and reviews.
Possess strong project management, organizational, technical and planning and sound decision-making ability. A self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision, the flexibility and resilience to deal with changing schedules, obstacles, priorities and work several parallel projects simultaneously.
